The Qbic is a fun, quirky Hotel situated in East London, only a short walk from Aldgate East Tube Station. We stopped there in London for 2 nights and really enjoyed this conveniently located hotel. We live in Essex, so it was super easy to get to.
As soon as you step into the reception area you are greeted with the quirkiness of the interior, there are lots of interesting things hanging around you and you can see straight into the bar area from reception, which has this huge amazing sign – alright treacle?
We were greeted by a lovely woman at reception who welcomed us and checked us in within minutes. The lift is to the left of reception, so off we went – we were in our room less than 5 minutes after arriving. Now that is service! A quick check in is an absolute must and The Qbic doesn’t disappoint.
The Qbic Room
When we opened the door to our room, we found inside a small compact room, where you immediately see where the name of the hotel comes from. The rooms are put together in a cube form, with the huge bed being the main feature and the bathroom attached to the back. The room was bright and airy, despite us opting for a windowless room. It was colourful and clean, and really impressive.
THE BED – Wow. It was so huge and comfy! I slept so well in this bed and was really sad to leave it when we did. We actually overslept on our first evening it was that comfy, this was probably also because the room is so dark with the lights out and no windows.
The bathroom was bright, clean and very adequate in space, complete with a wonderful large rainforest style shower. The bathroom also came with organic toiletries for guests to use; shower gel, shampoo and hand wash.
Free internet and hot drinks
Free WiFi is offered throughout the hotel, and the reception was strong throughout our stay. Guests can enjoy free tea and coffee which is found in the corridors outside the room. Good quality tea and coffee too, which was a great bonus!
On our second evening at the hotel there was some amazing entertainment going on, but sadly we got there too late and only caught the end of an amazing set from The House Gospel Choir. From what we did see and hear, there were absolutely incredible, so I will be looking them up to try to catch them at another one of their gigs.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Qbic Hotel London and would not hesitate to stop there again.
