A’kin Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil

As an adult, I have struggled with acne. I was pretty lucky in my teen years to not suffer with it, but I definitely paid the price when I reached my late 20s.

For the last few years I have tried out every skincare routine you can imagine in my quest to settle my skin. I have now found my holy grail in Liz Earle, but as a result of the acne problems I struggled with before, I have scarring on my face. In general I also struggle with redness. I have heard amazing things about Rosehip oil when it comes to helping redness, so I couple of months ago I picked up this Rosehip Oil from A’kin.

A'kin Rosehip Oil

Organic skincare

When it comes to skincare, I am all about natural and organic, so the A’kin brand really appealed to me when I was looking for a rosehip oil. I read a few reviews and heard amazing things about this oil, so bought it and started using it religiously since it arrived.

How I use A’kin Rosehip Oil

I can honestly say this is such a wonderful product. After I cleanse and tone in the evening, I apply a few drops of this to my moisturiser and apply it to my face. I spend time really working it in across my face, massaging it in to make sure it absorbs well. The smell is so natural and relaxing that it makes for a calming ritual before bedtime. It really relaxes me and I swear the scent helps me drift off to sleep.

The difference

I have noticed a huge difference in the scarring on my face since I started using it. I am about two months in now and my redness and scarring is significantly reduced. I only use a few drops each evening and it hardly looks like I have used anything in the bottle, so this is going to last me a long time, which helps justify the £20 (ish) price tag.

I have also been able to scale back on the amount of foundation I use, because I was covering my face in high coverage foundation to cover the redness. Now I can get away with wearing less and using concealer and powder on days when I just want light coverage, something I would not have felt comfortable doing before.

If you have scars or redness then I highly recommend trying out a rosehip oil to help combat these problems.
